About Prime Performance

Prime Performance is a family business, in every sense of the word. Kyle Dacey brings 15+ years of coaching experience and a runner and triathlete's firsthand knowledge to every plan he builds. Behind the scenes (and often at the finish line with a cowbell), his wife Lauren keeps everything running — coordinating logistics, assisting with coaching, and leading the unofficial Prime Performance cheer squad. A runner herself for over 25 years, she's just as invested in every athlete's goals as Kyle is, and she's always around to keep him humble.

Together, Kyle and Lauren built Prime Performance not just as a coaching service, but as a community — a group of runners and triathletes of every ability who train together, race together, and show up for each other like family.

Coach Kyle

Kyle has been coaching for over 15 years, working with athletes at the high school, junior college, and NCAA Division III levels before turning his focus to adult runners and triathletes with Prime Performance, which he founded in 2024. He's not just a coach on paper — he's logged the miles himself, racing everything from 5Ks to a 100K trail race, including six full Ironmans, ten-plus half Ironmans, six marathons, two 45-milers, and more 5Ks, 10Ks, and half marathons than he can count. That firsthand experience across every distance and discipline shapes every plan he writes.

Kyle's coaching is built on proven methods — the 80/20 running method, Jack Daniels' training principles, and his UESCA certification — all grounded in the latest research on heart-rate-based training. Every run has a purpose: Kyle makes sure your easy runs are truly easy, so your body has what it takes to hit your hard workouts at the pace that actually builds speed. But Kyle's approach goes beyond pace and heart rate zones. He coaches the person first, athlete second — recognizing that every runner and triathlete has different physical and mental strengths and weaknesses, and building a plan around who you are, not a one-size-fits-all template. Using the data from your workouts, uploaded directly to his coaching app, he continually fine-tunes your training as your fitness evolves — and he doesn't stop at the workout. Kyle teaches every athlete to think like a 24-hour athlete, because sleep, nutrition, and recovery matter just as much as the miles themselves.

Coaching isn't something Kyle does alone — Prime Performance is a community. A group of runners and triathletes of every ability trains together, meeting up for shared warmups, similar-paced workouts, and strength training side by side. And while Kyle can't promise he'll be at every single race, he makes it out to as many as he can to cheer athletes on. That's what makes this community so special — even when he can't be there, someone from the group usually is, crewing, cheering, and handing off water bottles along the course. Throughout the week, everyone stays connected in a private Strava group, sharing workouts, swapping memes, and sending virtual kudos through every high and low. It's a group that trains hard together and shows up for each other, on and off the course.
